Augusta Macassey-Pickard

My name is Augusta and I work for Coromandel Watchdog of Hauraki in the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula, where I am also lucky enough to live with my small family. I have been Chair of our local F&B branch for the past 7 (or more!) years, and have been involved in a range of environmental issues at a national and local level, both through my work and as a volunteer. I have huge respect for the work that ECO does, and feel that now, more than ever, it is vital that the group continues that important work. ECO serves multiple important functions – as a networker, as a supporter and as a lobbyist, providing support and knowledge needed to help member groups to participate meaningfully in the processes that affect them. ECO’s work in connecting groups and individuals who can work together to achieve positive outcomes for our environments, I think, is hugely important. I would like to contribute to that work, and to the strengthening of the organisation in these trying times.

I have served on the ECO Executive for 2 terms previously.
