ECO Conference 2012

The ECO Conference 2012 will be in Wellington from Friday 6 July to Saturday 8 July

Friday and Saturday's programme will be held at the Salvation Army Hall, Vivian Street, close to the ECO office.
Sunday will involve a morning workshop, the AGM and lunch, to be held at Turnbull House, Bowen Street, opposite Parliament.

The theme of the Conference will look at the need for environmental leadership, responsibility and good governance.

We are at present developing the programme and topics likely to be included are current international themes in environmental justice and the Aarhus Convention in the context of this year’s  Rio+20 and the IUCN Congress (would leave out eco cide at this stage) . Locally there will be discussion on the RMA reforms and environmental principles, public participation and  due process in policy and  legislation with consideration of the EEZ and Continental Shelf Act and the Southern Ocean and Ross Sea campaign.

Any suggestions for content are welcome.
