DOC has given the go ahead to mine the Karangahake Gorge

This is DOC land, set aside for conservation, in an area developing a sustainable economy which depends on people coming to enjoy the natural environment.
Coromandel Watchdog, alongside locals and iwi, remain adamant we will do all we can to protect the Karangahake Gorge and ask you to stand with us.
